🎉 2026 Season of Celebration: Sophie Coutts - Cross Country & Track and Field (Purple Blanket Profile) 🎉

Her five-year career at Western stands among the finest ever produced by our women’s distance program. From contributing to a U SPORTS silver medal team as a first-year athlete to closing her career ranked among the nation’s best in the 1500m and 3000m, she has consistently delivered when it mattered most.

Her championship resume is exceptional: multiple All-Canadian honours in cross country, eight U SPORTS track medals, and ten OUA medals across individual and relay events. She holds top-three positions on Western ‘s all-time lists in the mile, 1 000m, and 3000m, and proudly represented Canada at the FISU World University Games. 

Beyond athletics, Sophie completed a demanding dual degree in Medical Science and Business at the Ivey School while earning Academic All-Canadian recognition in four seasons. Her ability to balance elite sport and rigorous academics, while elevating the standard of those around her, reflects uncommon maturity and leadership.
