#BigDaddyKane’s classic debut album Long Live the Kane was released on June 21, 1988, through Cold Chillin’ Records. Produced by Marley Marl and the 45 King, the album helped cement both Kane and Marley Marl as defining figures of hip-hop’s golden era.

The project spawned standout singles like “Ain’t No Half-Steppin’”, which reached No. 53 on the R&B/Hip-Hop chart, and “I’ll Take You There,” which peaked at No. 73 on the same chart and No. 21 on the Rap chart.

Widely regarded as one of the greatest rap albums ever made, Long Live the Kane was named one of The Source’s 100 Best Rap Albums in 1998 and later ranked among Spin magazine’s greatest albums of all time. The album also earned RIAA Gold certification, solidifying its status as a hip-hop classic.
