Was it Spiritual bypassing? Christian hypocrisy? people being promoted while their survivors were silenced? Toxic church culture? Fear-based teaching? Shame? Control? Being told to “just pray about it” while your boundaries were ignored? Feeling like questions weren’t welcome? Feeling more judged than supported?

People leave church for a lot of reasons:�
• protecting their mental wellness
• �unhealthy church environments�
• purity culture
• �hypocrisy and double standards�
• being dismissed for asking questions
�• pressure, guilt, and fear-based teaching�
• leadership culture
�• realizing conformity was valued more than authenticity�
• finally learning to trust themselves again

Some of us spent years believing we were “the problem” because our pain was reframed as rebellion, bitterness, or lack of faith.
And a lot of us didn’t lose our peace, freedom, compassion, identity, or critical thinking when we left church…�we found them.
