Cargo theft has become such a big problem in Arizona that the state is creating a new task force to fight it 🚛

Arizona has created a Cargo Theft Task Force, a statewide team that will investigate cargo theft, track criminal trends and coordinate with law enforcement agencies.

Industry experts say organized crime groups are increasingly targeting semitrucks, trains and cargo shipments. Electronics, shoes, watches and other expensive products have been among the items stolen in Arizona in recent years.

CargoNet estimates cargo theft cost businesses roughly $725 million nationwide in 2025.
