DOÑA ANA ACCOUNTABILITY SERIES
PART 4 OF 5

For nearly three years, Battalion Search & Rescue volunteers have revisited reported human remains sites throughout southern Doña Ana County.

What we found should concern everyone.

At more than twenty sites previously reported to authorities, we found additional human remains left behind.

Not one site.

Not a handful of sites.

Every site we revisited.

B0N€S.

Clothing.

Personal belongings.

Evidence.

In some cases, these remains sat in the desert for months or years after authorities had been notified.

The image attached to this post was taken at a site known as the Fence Line Girl.

The site remained unrecovered for more than a year after being reported.

When authorities finally arrived, all of her clothing was left behind.

Later, volunteers returned and found additional human remains, several rib B0N€S, still present at the location.

This is not a debate about immigration.

It is not a debate about politics.

It is a question of standards, accountability, and whether families can trust that every reported D€∆TH receives the attention it deserves.

When a site is declared recovered, the public assumes the work was completed.

What should the public think when volunteers repeatedly return and find more?

The D€∆D deserve dignity.

The families deserve answers.

And no one should be left behind.
