Coming in as a transfer student to UCLA was one of the most difficult transitions I’ve endured. Not only did I lack stability at the time, I genuinely wasn’t prepared to compete at the same level as some of my peers. They always tell us to focus on ourselves, but when your own success and grade depends on the performance of others, not just your own, it can create one of the most competitively toxic environments to learn in.
