## Caption

We took a Himalayan salt lamp, crushed it up, melted it down and cast it into a sword!! The thing I was the most intrigued by was that the color changed from pretty pink to metallic grey? Why did this happen? The over process of casting salt is actually super difficult. The material does not move very smoothly and it cracks if it cools to quickly ...it’s kind of like glass in a way and needs to be annealed (cooling slowly to keep the structure in place) —
