We’re giving this gold away!! There is still GOLD left in the mountains that hug Los Angeles!! It’s actually quite impressive that the location we were mining is only 1:30 hrs from my house. The way gold mining works is you take this material called hard pack (sand, clay, and small stones) that’s been washed down the river and you put it in a bucket. You then take that material and throw it down a sluice box. The box has troughs that create low pressure zones that capture the gold and keep it in place as the water runs over it. You then scoop it out (with a snifter) and throw it in a vial. Boom bam...gold fever!! —
