Pete Crow-Armstrong went up at the wall against the Brewers and got a glove on a ball that looked like a clear home run. He didn’t make the catch, but he still managed to touch it and knock it back into the field of play. That alone shows elite timing, speed, and effort—most outfielders don’t even get close enough to attempt that play.

The clip went viral because it looks like a “miss” at first glance, but in reality it’s a very high-difficulty attempt on a ball already leaving the park. The difference between a highlight and a mistake is often just inches and angle, and PCA gave himself a chance when most players wouldn’t.

This fits his 2026 season, where he’s been one of the most complete players in MLB with strong offensive numbers (around an .880 OPS, double-digit homers, and steals) plus elite defense in center field. It’s exactly the kind of aggressive, high-impact play that defines his game.
