When Ruben Compres joined Braze’s Austin team, his Braze Buddy match happened to be a fellow die-hard soccer fan. An Austin FC game was basically inevitable ⚽

Braze Buddy is one of the ways we help new hires build real connections from day one, pairing them with a tenured employee and a small budget to spend time together. When Ruben joined as a Technical Account Manager, he got matched with Rick Martin, Senior Technical Account Manager — and it didn’t take long to find common ground.

Rick put it best: “We got upgraded to a box at the Austin FC match and bonded for life as rabid fans. I always know I can share soccer hot takes with Ruben now.”

Ruben seconded that: “Our shared love for the game made it a no-brainer to meet up for an Austin FC game. Cheering on the home team was a fun way to connect beyond the office.”
