POV: You get invited to a movie premiere… and end up leaving with a fresh makeup look. 💄🍿

Last night, Vikram and I headed to the Supergirl media premiere at VOX Cinemas, Dubai Festival City.

The vibe was amazing. A packed cinema, fellow creators, media, fans and lots of excitement. It definitely felt like a proper premiere.

One of my favourite parts of the evening? Getting my makeup done by the lovely team at Ulta Beauty before the screening. Such a fun touch.

Now… onto the movie.

⭐️⭐️⭐️☆☆ (3/5)

I really wanted to love it, but for me, it was just… okay.

Milly Alcock does a great job as Supergirl. She brings warmth, humour and vulnerability to the role, and Krypto the superdog is honestly one of the best parts of the movie.

But beyond that, I found the story predictable, the pacing uneven, and the emotional moments didn’t quite hit as hard as I expected. The villain also felt underdeveloped, which is something many early viewers have pointed out as well.

Visually, it’s entertaining and it’s a decent family watch, but it didn’t leave me with that “Wow, I need to tell everyone to watch this” feeling.

Would I say skip it? No.

Would I rush to watch it again? Probably not.

So my final rating is a solid 3/5. Worth watching if you’re a DC fan or looking for a light weekend movie, but it wasn’t one of my favourite superhero films.
