🚨🤖 This looks like AI… but it’s national security disguised as commerce.

In a June 11 Senate Intelligence Committee briefing, Senator Mark Warner relayed what NSA and Cyber Command chief General Joshua Rudd told him about Mythos, Anthropic’s unrestricted frontier model. According to Warner, Rudd said Mythos “broke into almost all of our classified systems, not in weeks, but in hours.”

The test he referenced was a classified red‑team exercise, designed to find weaknesses before adversaries do. What stood out was the speed — an automated model did in hours what human teams would normally take weeks to complete.

The timing lines up with what followed: one day later, the Commerce Department used export controls to pull Anthropic’s Fable 5 and Mythos offline. Both share the same underlying system, but Mythos runs without the safety classifiers that Fable applies to sensitive requests — the kind of gap officials have warned about.

This is the clearest case yet of a demonstrated AI capability triggering a national security response against a commercial model.
