Micron options are $3 wide. SanDisk even wider. Jim Schultz shows two tricks to find fair value when the bid-ask spread is so wide that the mid price alone is not enough. First: matching vertical spreads across the chain at the same strikes must sum to the width of the spread. Start with the out-of-the-money side where markets are tighter and back into fair value on the in-the-money side.

Second: use the extrinsic value column on the platform. For out-of-the-money options the extrinsic value IS the fair value. Forget the bid. Forget the ask. Start there and do your price discovery from that anchor point. Two simple tools that work on any illiquid name.
