Const. Andre Hart allegedly s*xually harassed a colleague during ‘use-of-force’ training earlier this year 😨💔

An Ottawa police constable with approximately 20 years of policing experience is facing a disciplinary charge after allegedly s*xually harassing a colleague during a training session earlier this year.

According to documents filed with the Ontario Police Arbitration and Adjudication Commission, Const. Andre Hart allegedly made several inappropriate s*xualized comments toward a fellow officer during use-of-force training.

The complainant reported feeling uncomfortable, prompting an investigation by the Ottawa Police Service’s Professional Standards Unit.

Hart is not a rookie officer. He spent 13 years with the Toronto Police Service before joining the Ottawa Police Service seven years ago.

During the investigation, he acknowledged making at least one inappropriate comment and expressed remorse, according to the disciplinary documents.

He remains on active duty with the Mental Health Unit while the matter proceeds through the disciplinary process. A hearing date has not yet been scheduled.

The case comes just days after Ottawa Police Chief Eric Stubbs issued a service-wide reminder warning officers that s*xual misconduct, workplace har*ssment, and the misuse of police databases to pursue personal or romantic relationships would not be tolerated.

Police have not indicated that the chief’s message was issued in response to this specific case.
