Baba, today isn’t the only day I think of you. I don’t need a calendar to remind me — you live in me every moment, closer now than you ever were before. Every lesson you gave me, every word of your wisdom, still moves like a quiet tide through my heart, with every step I take.
One of the hardest things I carry is not being able to play you my music anymore — not hearing your feedback, which was always priceless to me, like gold I could hold onto. But I know you hear everything I create, every note, every silence between the notes. I hope it still reaches you the way it used to.
Some days I just wish for your shoulder to cry on, your hand wrapped around mine, just to know you’re near. To lean my head against you again — that gave me a peace and a shelter I have not found anywhere else since.
