It sounds more natural than saying,  
 
❌ We will delay this task because it is not our main priority at the moment. 
 
You use it when a task, project, idea, or plan is not the priority right now because something else needs attention first. 
 
Examples: 
 
🔵 We’ve put the website redesign on the back burner until next quarter. 
 
🔵 The hiring plan is on the back burner while we deal with the budget issue.
