❗️Polestar just became the first major EV brand to get pushed out of the U.S. by America’s connected-car crackdown.

Starting with the 2027 model year, Polestar will no longer be allowed to sell new vehicles in the U.S. after the Department of Commerce denied the brand authorization under the Connected Vehicle Rule.

The rule targets connected vehicles with software or hardware ties to China or Russia, and Polestar got caught because of its Geely ownership and China-linked tech concerns.

Existing Polestar 3 and Polestar 4 inventory can still be sold, and current U.S. owners will still get service, warranty support, and access to the brand’s service network.

That part is important, because this is not an instant shutdown for owners, it is a block on future new-vehicle sales.

The wild detail is that this can affect Polestar even though the Polestar 3 is built in South Carolina and the Polestar 4 is built in South Korea.

Polestar is now shifting harder toward Europe, where it already gets most of its sales, while the U.S. becomes basically a dead end after the current stock runs out.

For enthusiasts, this is bigger than one EV brand, because it shows how software, data, ownership, and geopolitics are becoming just as important as horsepower, range, and price.

Is this a smart national-security move, or the beginning of a much bigger crackdown on China-linked cars in America?

What are your thoughts? 🤔💭
