Takeoff and Trouble were two respected voices in Atlanta hip-hop whose styles helped shape the sound of modern trap music. Takeoff, known as one-third of Migos, earned praise for his smooth flow, technical lyricism, and calm delivery, while Trouble built a loyal following with his gritty storytelling and authentic portrayal of street life.

Although they had different approaches, both artists shared a strong connection to Atlanta’s rap culture and collaborated on “Key to the Streets” alongside YFN Lucci. Released in 2016, the track became one of the biggest street anthems of the decade, helping introduce YFN Lucci to a wider audience while showcasing memorable performances from Trouble and Takeoff. 

The song remains a fan favorite and is often remembered as a defining moment for everyone involved. Sadly, both rappers are no longer alive. Trouble was killed in June 2022 during a shooting at an apartment in Georgia, and just a few months later, Takeoff was fatally shot in Houston in November 2022. Their deaths were devastating losses for hip-hop, leaving behind families, friends, collaborators, and millions of fans who continue to celebrate their music. Through songs like ”Key to the Streets,” their talent, influence, and legacy continue to inspire listeners and preserve their place in rap history.
