What happens when an Argentine founder can't find a protein snack worth eating? He makes one from scratch.

For Franco, growing up in Argentina meant steak was a daily staple. After moving to New York, every protein snack on the shelf felt like a compromise — too processed, too rubbery, nothing close to the real thing. So he started experimenting in his kitchen, trying to create a thin, crispy slice of restaurant-quality steak. After months of iteration, he woke up one morning, tried the batch he'd left cooking overnight, and it was mind-blowing.

He took to the streets of NYC with a Ziploc bag of homemade steak chips, giving out free samples. People kept asking where they could buy them. That's when he knew Rodeo Snacks was real.

Startup CPG helped open a key door at the Citarella Grocery Run, where he met Helen — their produce president — who introduced Franco to her buying team. That conversation turned into their first retail placement.

Today Rodeo Snacks is in Citarella locations across NYC, the Hamptons, and Connecticut — and has sold 61k bags via DTC since launching in March.
