🍷 For years, the wine industry has been asking:

“How do we get Gen Z to drink more wine?” 🤔

I believe that’s the wrong question. A better one is: “How do we build wine brands that younger consumers genuinely want to connect with?”

🎙️ I recently explored this topic on winewithjon podcast (full episode in the link in bio), and one idea kept coming back throughout the conversation.

Millennials reshaped the wine industry by embracing authenticity, discovery and storytelling. They helped make wine more relatable and invited a new generation of consumers to explore it.

Gen Z is raising the bar. They expect brands to be transparent, purpose-driven and authentic. They value community, moderation, wellness and experiences they can genuinely relate to and share.

The challenge isn’t that younger generations don’t appreciate wine. The challenge is that many wine brands are still communicating for yesterday’s consumer. 🧑‍🌾

The wineries that will stand out over the next decade won’t necessarily be the ones making better wines. They’ll be the ones creating stronger connections.

Because people don’t choose the brands that tell the most stories. They choose the brands whose stories they can see themselves in.

Do you think the wine industry is adapting fast enough to the next generation of consumers?
