Let's talk biochemistry before you do it again.

Unbranded kajal isn't just kohl- it's often a lead delivery system. Some samples test at 54% lead sulfide.

Babies are more vulnerable:
❌ Higher gut and skin absorption than adults
❌ Hand-to-mouth turns eye contact into ingestion
❌ Even breastfeeding exposure has raised infant blood lead levels

The risk isn't "eye infection." It's anemia, kidney damage, seizures, and long-term learning and behavioural problems.
And there's no proven vision benefit to offset it.

If the ritual matters to you: is it branded and lead-tested? Can't verify it? Skip it.
