The U.S. Marshals Service has increased the reward for information leading to the arrest of Jonathan Petty, a murder suspect with ties to the Upstate and western North Carolina.

The 43 year old is accused of killing a Cleveland County resident on March 29, 2024.

Officials said Petty could be staying with family members or close friends in Georgia or Virginia; in Cleveland, Gaston, Rutherford and Buncombe counties in North Carolina; or in Cherokee, Spartanburg and Greenville counties in South Carolina.
