Idaho had a bill this year, Senate Bill 1271, to declare certain rats a public health and safety nuisance and create a coordinated response before the problem spreads further. The bill passed the Senate, then died in the House.

Every Democrat in the House voted yes. Every no vote came from Republicans. Rats move through neighborhoods, damage property, carry disease, and cost families money when leaders wait too long to act. 

This should have been simple. Protect homes. Protect agriculture. Protect public health. Get ahead of the problem before it gets more expensive. That is what practical government does.
