Taking our research from the classroom to the conference room! Cohort 22 traveled to Starkville, MS, for the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) Conference.

Dr. Ian Norris, Faryal Fatima, and Ana Cecilia Ferreira da Silva proudly presented Cohort 21's research on mapping the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Eastern Kentucky. Immersing Cohort 22 in a conference is part of the EPG experience, and we were happy that ARC was chosen. We were thrilled to hear from facilitator Carmen Reed, who noted the cohort's "engagement, professionalism, and enthusiasm" and shared that they left a genuinely inspiring impression on the attendees.

The conference was a masterclass in mobilizing resources and navigating ambiguity. Miraslava Beraheika stepped out of her comfort zone to make meaningful professional connections. Isabella DeRanieri and Elizabeth Olayo connected with Dr. Paul Rosen to learn strategies for preventing career burnout, while Rue Haile bonded with Chris Brazell over their shared first-generation college backgrounds.

A major highlight was Daniel Rukwasha's  transformative conversation with a Mercedes-Benz USA engineer, who challenged Daniel to rethink his computer science path by focusing on building deeply committed, task-specific AI rather than general models.
