Almost 3 months in as a Tech Lead driving AI feature in e-commerce.

The role is bigger than the title - and I’ve learned more in these nearly 3 months than in the year before.

3 things that stuck with me:

→ The hardest part isn’t building the AI feature and using AI daily. It’s aligning everyone around why it matters before the results are visible.

→ The wider your scope, the faster you grow. Owning the full picture - product, tech and mentorship - changes how you think.

→ AI in e-commerce is already here. Personalisation, search, recommendations - teams moving now are already ahead.

Which brings me to something I keep thinking about - the “Fast Forward Software Engineer.” A developer who uses AI to move at the speed that used to require a team of 5.
