🎈 Balloon. Sky. Further than that. 🐾

The plan was a scenic ride.
Up. Around. Back down.
The kind of gentle airborne experience that ends with a champagne toast and a certificate and a story for dinner parties. 😐

Red panda had a different itinerary.
Red panda's itinerary did not include coming back down on schedule. 🎋

The pilot suggested turning around at the reasonable altitude.
Red panda looked at the reasonable altitude.
Red panda looked further than the reasonable altitude with the expression of someone who finds the word reasonable deeply unambitious and continued going up while the pilot updated the flight plan and the ground crew updated their expectations. 😤

Further meant past the clouds.
Further meant past where the birds had opinions about sharing airspace.
Further meant the kind of altitude where the chain floats slightly and the Wayfarers are the only thing between red panda and a view that most people only see from windows of aircraft that filed proper paperwork. 👁️

The balloon went further.
Red panda went further than the balloon.
These are two separate statements and both are accurate and the aviation authorities are reconciling them as we speak. 🐾

Still up there.
Basket empty.
Chain last seen heading northeast. 🎈🔥

Took the balloon. Left the balloon. Went further. Obviously. 💀
