Alabama 28, Florida 21 

Errict Rhett started the scoring in the SEC Championship game with a 5-yard TD run for Florida. Alabama answered back with 21 straight points, starting with a 3-yard TD run from Derrick Lassic. Jay Barker hooked up with Curtis Brown on a 30-yard TD reception, and then Derrick Lassic ran in for a 15-yard TD to give Alabama a commanding 21 – 7 lead over the Gators. Shane Matthews tossed a 4-yard pass to Willie Jackson in the end zone, and Errict Rhett rushed in the game-tying TD for Florida. The momentum belonged to Florida until Antonio Langham intercepted a pass from Shane Matthews for a 21-yard TD to ice the Gators.
