What I learned is that everyone’s edge is different.

Cliff’s edge is storytelling.
Claire’s edge is curiosity.
Beth’s edge is conviction.
JaVale’s edge is reinvention.

The lesson for me wasn’t to copy any one of them. It was to recognize that your greatest advantage comes from leaning into what only you can uniquely bring to the world.

As I reflected on my own journey from Nigeria to the NBA, and now into broadcasting, philanthropy, and conversations like these, I realized my edge has never been just basketball. It’s been the ability to connect people, ask meaningful questions, and create spaces where others can learn from one another.

That’s what made this panel so memorable. Four different paths. Four different definitions of success. One shared belief: our greatest influence comes not from what we’ve achieved, but from what we’re willing to give away.
