Stepping into her dream role as our favorite wayfinding warrior in Walt Disney Studios’ live-action adaptation of “Moana,” opening in theaters July 10th, Catherine Laga’aia sits down for a visit with Disney Files Magazine Editor Ryan March inside the Island Tower addition at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows. 

During their visit, Catherine reflects on becoming Moana – from her whirlwind audition process to working with Auli’i Cravalho (voice of Moana in the animated films, and an Executive Producer on the live-action film) to what it means to her to represent her culture on screen.
