There are a lot of things people tell you about college that sound true… until you're actually living it. ❌ "College will be the best four years of your life." Some days will be incredible. Others will be stressful, lonely, and overwhelming. Not every semester needs to be the "best time ever" for your college experience to be meaningful. ❌ "Everyone makes lifelong friends during freshman year." Some people meet their best friends on move-in day. Others find their people sophomore, junior, or even senior year. There is no timeline for finding your community. ❌ "Good grades guarantee a good job." Grades matter, but they're only one piece of the puzzle. Internships, projects, networking, and real-world experience can open just as many doors. ❌ "You should do unpaid internships to get experience." Your time and skills have value. There are so many ways to gain experience, build your resume, and get paid while doing it.
