BET Awards had so many beautiful moments last night…

From Baby Keem making his BET Awards debut with Momo Boyd, to Don Toliver bringing his OCTANE era to the stage, Cardi B kicking off her next chapter with a high-energy medley, and Lauryn Hill receiving the inaugural Living Legend Icon Award before joining the tribute herself, the show balanced celebrating legends with showcasing where music is headed next. Teyana Taylor also had one of the biggest nights of her career, taking home four awards—including Icon of the Year—while delivering an emotional acceptance speech introduced by Janet Jackson.

Outside of the performances, there was a bunch more talking points…

Druski became the youngest host in BET Awards history, Sylvia Rhone was honored for her decades of influence as one of music’s most important executives, and artists across rap, R&B, gospel, and Afrobeats all had standout moments throughout the night. The ceremony felt less like a typical awards show and more like a reminder of how broad Black music has become in 2026.
