This year, around 1,800 children will be diagnosed with one of the 70 different subtypes of pediatric sarcoma. Sarcomas are tumors that form in the connective and supportive tissues of the body, including soft tissues – like rhabdomyosarcoma and synovial sarcoma – or even the bones – like osteosarcoma and Ewing sarcoma.
Survival rates for sarcomas lag behind the survival rates of other childhood cancers – only 75% of kids are alive five years after diagnosis. Still, kids with sarcomas find the strength to fight every day.
