MID YEAR STATS CHECK

6 months down and 6 to go. 

Several years ago I began doing bi-annual stat checks to measure my progress as a performer in my entertainment career. I believe it’s important to objectively track what you’re doing in anything to ensure that you’re making actual progress. By doing it twice a year, it allows for course correction mid year in case you aren’t happy with the progress thus far.

Noteworthy here is, of course, the number of fans I’ve performed in front of. With bananaball reaching the heights it is currently at, this should not be a surprise. In the second half of 2026, the number will continue to grow but all of our largest crowds for the year are behind us, so the number will level out.

The biggest piece of progress this year is that my book on hosting is finally moving forward and will actually see the light of day soon. I began the process of writing the book in 2022, finished my initial draft in 2023, and then the company I was working with to publish it declared bankruptcy. I lost a bunch of money as a result, and was left with an unfinished manuscript and no clear direction. When I got my dream job later that year, my plate got fuller than ever and the book just sat.

My goal this year was to change that, and I have. I’ve made some major edits and updates, and the book is now moving aggressively forward for the first time since 2023. It should be available ahead of the 2027 Banana Ball season, and truth be told, The Young Professor of 2026 is a far more credible author of this book than the 2023 version of me was.

I’ve been fortunate enough to have what I genuinely believe is the greatest, most nuanced, and most difficult live event hosting role in the entire world. What we’ve been building with Banana Ball is unparalleled. Have you seen the crowds for the World Cup fan festivals this past month? We do that every week and we have for years. We’ve built this from nothing into an entertainment spectacle the likes of which has never been seen. I am ready to put this book in the world and I can’t wait for you to read it.
