Longevity is entering the reimbursement era.

Medicare is launching a new pilot that gives certain older Americans and people with disabilities access to major GLP 1 obesity drugs for a $50 monthly copay.

That matters.

This is no longer just a weight loss trend.

It is healthspan becoming policy.

But the deeper signal is more complicated.

Doctors are warning that older adults need careful support on GLP 1s because rapid weight loss can also mean muscle loss, frailty risk, medication issues, and bone density concerns.

That is the part the hype often misses.

Weight loss is not the same as resilience.

A smaller body is not automatically a stronger body.

The real longevity stack is more demanding:

Metabolic repair.

Resistance training.

Protein.

Bone protection.

Mobility.

Follow up care.
