Blistering temperatures will hardly relent as the Fourth of July holiday weekend approaches with daily highs near 100 and a forecast for the heat to stay above 90 through Monday.

Heat domes are typically linked to the behavior of the jet stream, which can cause the sun to create progressively hotter temperatures on the ground.
