In this episode, Caroline hosts Brittany Watkins, one of the foremost experts in Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT/tapping) for emotional eating and weight loss, to talk “food noise,” GLP-1s, and why many women feel shame about needing help with weight and eating. Brittany shares her 15-year background in food psychology and explains her brain-rewiring method, echo tapping, as a non-medication alternative for women who can’t afford GLP-1s, don’t trust them, have side effects, or want to come off them without regaining weight. She says GLP-1s can quiet cravings but don’t address the root cause, which she links to unconscious patterns, trauma, and safety beliefs formed in childhood. Brittany distinguishes food cravings (wanting a specific food) from emotional eating (any food will do), connects triggers like nighttime stress to early experiences, describes “body boundary violation” and unexpressed anger as sabotage patterns.
