Today, we are crowning actress, singer, and dancer Chandler Kinney as our #QueenoftheWeek 👑

At just three years old, Kinney started dance training and grew up competing in ballet, tap, jazz, and hip-hop. It didn’t take long before she began acting as well, booking her first commercial at age nine. She started taking acting lessons soon after and quickly fell in love with the craft. 

Her career kicked off with guest appearances on Disney Channel and Nickelodeon before joining the Disney Zombies franchise in 2020. She made her first appearance as Willa, a fearless werewolf leader in Zombies 2, and reprised the role in the next two films. As Willa, Kinney gave Disney viewers a new strong, loyal role model to look up to. Kinney has also brought important diversity to the world of kids’ TV, championing increased representation for young viewers watching at home. 

Alongside her Disney projects, Kinney brought her dance skills to the screen, joining the 33rd season of “Dancing with the Stars” in 2024. With her partner, Brandon Armstrong, she earned both the highest cumulative points based on judges’ scores and the first perfect score of the season. Together, she and Armstrong became the first Black partnership to advance to the finale, and their freestyle routine was the show’s first performance to feature an ensemble of all Black dancers. 

Now, Kinney is continuing her run of inspiring roles for kids and teens, playing Kimberly in the new Legally Blonde prequel series, “Elle,” coming out this month.  Playing a character exploring her sexuality, Kinney has shared that the show is telling stories that will hopefully resonate with young audiences and provide more space for them to feel truly seen.
