Every term the report came home. 

Attendance: poor. 
Struggles to separate. 
Finds drop-off difficult.

Not one line about what she was actually doing - the courage it took to get dressed, get in the car, make it to the gate. 

The effort of holding herself together in a body that was sounding every alarm it had.

The system measures what it can see. 
It can’t see a nervous system in threat mode. 
It can’t see a child working harder than anyone around her just to stay in the room.

If your child’s report card has never reflected what you actually see at 7am - this one’s for you.
