An original copy of the US Declaration of Independence has been discovered in the UK.
 
After the original was signed on 4 July 1776, copies were printed in Exeter, New Hampshire, and sent to colonies across the country to notify them that the US was no longer under British rule.
 
The copy, found in a former Royal Navy captain's book, is believed to be one of only 11 surviving originals printed in New Hampshire between July 16 and 19, 1776.
