HAPPY 95th BIRTHDAY QUEEN and CONGRATULATIONS ON THE RELEASE OF YOUR NEW MEMOIR “IT’S NEVER TOO LATE”

From my beginning days in Hollywood Marla Gibbs was the anchor. She unflinchingly told it like it was. She created a space in Hollywood that demanded respect and she never gave up on her commitment to carry others on her back. I learned many lessons from this icon, and I’m sure others have as well. 

To see her loved and celebrated by friends from 1960s on through today brought tears to my heart, even though she never flinched! She kept that strong demeanor even with those sparkling eyes.
