And I used to try to answer it — to explain the logistics, the routine, the help we have, the way you just figure it out day by day.

But the honest answer is simpler than that.

I didn’t know I had a choice.

Nobody handed me twins and asked if I was ready. Nobody checked my qualifications or confirmed I had the bandwidth. They just arrived and the job was already mine.

So I do it. Every day. Because they need me to.

Some days I do it beautifully, if I do say so myself. Some days I do it by the skin of my teeth. Most days somewhere in between.

But I do it.
