Five Los Angeles Lakers legends. One has to go. This NBA debate has no wrong answer, but it will be fun to see what other Instagram users think. 

LeBron James brought the Los Angeles Lakers back to the top by leading the NBA franchise to the 2020 NBA Championship, winning NBA Finals MVP, and adding another historic chapter to one of the greatest careers in basketball history.

Shaquille O’Neal is arguably the most dominant player NBA fans have ever seen. Alongside Kobe Bryant, Shaq led the LA Lakers to a legendary three-peat from 2000-2002 while winning three straight NBA Finals MVP awards.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was the skyhook master, six-time NBA MVP, former all-time leading scorer, and centerpiece of multiple Lakers championship teams during the Showtime era. His longevity and consistency are nearly unmatched.

Magic Johnson was the face of Showtime. One of the greatest point guards and passers in NBA history, five-time NBA champion, three-time NBA MVP, and the basketball player who helped turn the Los Angeles Lakers into basketball’s biggest attraction throughout the 1980s.

Kobe Bryant had a 20 year NBA career, where he got five NBA championships, one NBA MVP, two NBA Finals MVPs, eighteen NBA All-Star appearances, and many game winning shots. One of the most iconic competitors the sport has ever seen and the player many basketball fans immediately think of when they hear of the Lakers.

Each of these NBA players has an argument as a top-10 player in NBA history, and all five helped define different eras of LA Lakers basketball.
