NBA fans forget how insane Bradley Beal was during his prime with the Washington Wizards. Before joining the Phoenix Suns, Bradley Beal was one of the most unstoppable scorers in the entire NBA. After the Wizards moved on from franchise point guard John Wall, many people expected Washington to struggle offensively. Instead, Bradley Beal took over. During the 2019-20 NBA season, Beal averaged 30 points per game, then somehow got even better the following year by averaging 31 points per game, finishing second in the NBA scoring race behind superstar basketball player Stephen Curry. Defenses loaded up on him with double teams, trapped him off screens, and made him the focus of their game plan, but he still couldn’t be stopped.

The craziest part is that he wasn’t just putting up empty numbers. Beal became the engine of the Wizards’ offense, creating shots for himself, facilitating for teammates, and carrying one of the heaviest offensive workloads in basketball. He earned All-NBA Third Team honors and set the Washington Wizards franchise record for highest points per game in a single season.

Unfortunately, because Washington wasn’t competing for NBA championships and spent those years fighting for NBA Playoff positioning, Beal’s prime often gets overlooked when people talk about the greatest scorers of the 2020s. But make no mistake, Bradley Beal wasn’t just a good scorer. He was one of the five most dangerous offensive players in the NBA. Every time he stepped on the basketball court, 30 points felt automatic. Sometimes playing on a mediocre team causes fans to forget just how dominant a player really was.
