Last night the great Al McCoy, the legendary voice of the Phoenix Suns, has finally called it quits after being the voice of the Suns since 1972. On May 12, 2023, this was his final radio broadcast as the voice of the Suns after the team would fall to the @DenverNuggets in the 2023 NBA Playoffs. His legendary calls through playoff runs and losing seasons are a testament of his character and why the Suns fans loved him so much. Let us also not forget about his ultimate shazam calls he would make on the radio and TV. McCoy will always be remembered as a talented broadcaster for many to look up to for generations to come not just around the Pheonix area, but also from around the country. We thank him for his dedication to sports broadcasting and to the art of both sport and journalist, along with father and grandfather and great uncle and husband and so on.
