did not finish.

This one took me a minute to find the words and navigate my emotions.

I went into WTM this year to compete as an individual for the first time. Like everyone else who's overly competitive and equally delusional, I wanted massive mileage. I put in over 1,400 miles since January with my biggest months being 330+ in April and May. I felt ultra fit and was ready to access that fitness.

My night got cut short after 11:39:21 and 50 miles (10 laps). I was going up/over Great Esacpe (series of three walls) and my right hand slipped out from under me in the top support position of a muscle up. I went over the top of the wall landing awkwardly and sustaining a knee injury. I walked it in and called it. Let out a few tears in the pit area knowing my race was over.

Frustrated. Devastated. Humiliated. Nothing else has been occupying my headspace other than the fact I quit. A "DNF" is a miserable feeling, even when it's circumstantial and uncontrollable. I let the team down. I did not fulfil the goals I put out there and the promises I made myself. Quite the punch in the face.

Tiny violin music aside, I could not have gone even one mile without my team. Pit Bosses, lindsay_rose04 and jessica_lynn107, thank you for keeping me fueled, on track, and moving well for nearly 12 hours. Support Crew, momma_golik, notyouramigo, joe_rucco, hybridab, bubblestheclowne, sam_r97, zackwiz1389, and all of underdog.fitness.gym thank you for your unwavering belief in me. I'm sorry I could not go the distance.

5 out of the last 6 weeks I've been traveling and competing. Tough Mudder Infinity Philly, both weekends at HYROX New York, HYROX World Championship Stockholm, World's Toughest Mudder Midlands UK. Maybe this was my body saying it needed a break.

All that to say, I'll be back to finish the job.
