Secretary of Homeland Security Markwayne Mullin traveled to New York City on Wednesday afternoon to speak about the United States Coast Guard and how the Trump administration is supporting the critical agency.

It's a great day, not just because we're celebrating the, America's 250th anniversary, but it's also a great day to see the investment that President Trump and his administration is making into the Coast Guard, the largest investment since World War II. By dollar amounts, is the largest in history, with $25 billion."

Mullin highlighted how President Donald Trump's One Big, Beautiful Bill has helped efforts to revitalize the United States Coast Guard.

"It cut spending by $1.6 trillion," Mullin said, explaining that as a result the administration was able to make investments on securing the Southern border, fighting against drug cartels and more.

Mullin also discussed the role the USCG is playing in events for America's 250th anniversary and the FIFA World Cup.
