Slim&Bre on Instagram: "Part 2! I flew to Istanbul Turkey for a comprehensive women’s health checkup that would’ve cost me over $15,000 in Los Angeles… and paid about $840 USD instead.

In one day, I completed extensive blood work, cancer screenings, a mammogram, ultrasounds, a Pap smear, bone density testing, heart screenings, specialist consultations, a dental exam, and more.

The biggest surprise? They diagnosed severe iron deficiency anemia, a vitamin D deficiency, and an upper respiratory infection, giving me answers to symptoms I’d been dealing with for months.

Even better, I was able to use my HSA to cover the cost after submitting an itemized receipt from the hospital. If you have an HSA, it may be worth checking whether your plan covers eligible international medical expenses.

This experience completely changed how I think about preventative healthcare and medical tourism.
