Mouthfill is one of the most important equalization skills in deep freediving.

The idea is simple: before the pressure becomes too strong, you bring air from the lungs into the mouth and throat area, then use that small amount of air to keep equalizing deeper.

But the skill itself is not simple.

You need to feel the tongue, the soft palate, the glottis, the cheeks, and the throat. Every small movement matters.

That’s why mouthfill must be trained early, not when you are already blocked at depth.

If you wait until 35–45 meters to understand it, it is usually too late. The pressure is already strong, the lungs are compressed, and the brain starts to stress.

Train it first on dry.

Then at the surface.

Then between 0 and 10 meters.

Slowly, with control, until it becomes natural.

Deep equalization is not about forcing.

It is about understanding the skill before the depth demands it. #freediving #freediver #apnea #spearfishing #diving
