Brown Ballers on Instagram: "Arjun and Shailen Patel are 14-year-old identical twins who will begin ninth grade this fall. They recently competed at the 2026 USA Climbing Youth National Championships in Salt Lake City after qualifying through a series of USA Climbing competitions held between October 2025 and May 2026.

The brothers dominated the M15 speed climbing competition, earning the top two qualifying seeds before facing each other in the gold medal match. Shailen claimed the national title, defeating Arjun by just 0.284 seconds to become the U.S. Youth National Champion, while Arjun finished as the youth national runner-up.

In bouldering, Shailen placed third in the nation, while Arjun finished seventh, with both advancing through a highly competitive field of more than 60 athletes.

Arjun and Shailen are both on the USA Climbing Youth National Team for speed. Shailen is on the the Youth National Team for Bouldering, while Arjun is on the Youth National Development Team for bouldering.

Although they are not yet eligible to compete at the Youth World Championships until age 15, their performances have already established them among the nation’s top young climbers. 🇺🇸🧗
