No more slowing down at toll booths on the highway 🚗 Jio Payments Bank, a subsidiary of Jio Financial Services, has officially rolled out barrierless tolling at the Manoharpura Fee Plaza on National Highway 48 in Rajasthan 

This is part of the Multi Lane Free Flow tolling pilot led by the Indian Highways Management Company Limited under NHAI, aimed at eliminating physical barriers at toll plazas 🚦 The system uses Automatic Number Plate Recognition technology combined with existing FASTag and RFID infrastructure to identify and charge vehicles without requiring them to stop or even slow down 

Jio Payments Bank was awarded the contract back in October 2025 to manage two toll plazas under this pilot, Shahjahanpur and Manoharpura, covering a connected corridor of over 130 km along the busy Delhi to Jaipur route  The Manoharpura plaza alone is expected to handle close to 8.8 million vehicles annually 

This move positions Jio Payments Bank as a key player in India's shift toward smart, infrastructure linked digital payments, and lays the groundwork for the country's eventual transition to satellite based GNSS tolling, where charges will be based on distance travelled rather than fixed plaza locations
